Michael Curran Obituary

Michael Robert Curran
Passed away unexpectedly February 17, 2013, in Redlands, California. Mike was born December 27, 1944, in Seattle, Washington to Edna J. and John F. Curran. They moved to Southern California where he grew up, except for a short spell while his Dad worked in Illinois.
Mike is survived by his wife, Janet Curran; son, Brent Curran; sister, Victoria (Susie) Lukensow; brother, David Curran; many nieces, nephews, various inlaws, outlaws and many friends.
Mike spent his life exploring the southwestern deserts, drag racing, sand racing, off-road racing and just enjoying motor vehicles. He loved the mountains, deserts, beaches and warm tropical waters.
In 1964, Mike went to work as a Surveyor for the Pacific Electric Railway, which became the Southern Pacific Railroad, then Union Pacific, where he ended up as Manager of Construction. Mike retired in 1999 and later began working for Demo Unlimited as a private contractor doing the same type of railroad work.
Mike will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Hughes Mortuary, Yucaipa, California.

Memories and Condolences
for Michael Curran

Not sure what to say?

As part of the Corvette community I knew Mike & Janet and had the pleasure of working an autocross with him one time. Although I had only a passing acquaintance with Mike & Janet I always enjoyed their company. My condolences to the family and loved ones of this good man.

I've been privileged to know Michael for several years. While we didn't see each other very often, he was always quick with a smile and made you feel like one of the family. We loved to talk about Railroads and GM cars and trucks - something we shared in common. My sincerest sympathy to Mike's family - you are in my prayers.
