Judith Arlene Avery
February 13, 1951 - February 13, 2013
Judith Arlene Avery passed away unexpectedly February 13, 2013 while in recovery from a broken leg. After graduation from Temple City High School and graduating Phi Betta
Kappa from University of California, Irvine, Judy was employed most of her life in the aerospace proposal industry and lived in La Palma, California. Judy was an enthusiastic Laker fan and also enjoyed watching tennis. She was an avid reader, and loved traveling, birding, beading and orchid growing as hobbies. She will be deeply missed by her surviving mother Pearl, sister Lori, brother Jeffrey, and her niece and nephew (all of Temple City). In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to a local humane society. A family memorial celebration of life gathering is in the planning process.

Judy Avery was the very first girl I ever had a crush on. For awhile, I considered her my girlfriend, although that may not have really been a perception shared by her.I used to talk to my Mom about her. This was when we were very young at Longden School back in the early '50's. I never saw her again after leaving Longden and moving to San Gabriel in 1963. I typed her name into my browser today for the first time and discovered this obituary and it is very sad indeed to learn of her untimely passing. May God bless you Judy, and your surviving family and friends.

I am shocked to find out about Judy's passing. We were in grammar school together at Longden Elementary School. Judy was kind and compassionate, pretty and smart and a good and loyal friend. Her good natured spirit has never left me unto this day. A few months ago, I tried to reconnect with her just to say "hi" and never heard back from her. Now I know why and I am so saddened to her this news. Rest in peace, Judy...you will always live in my heart where you will remain until I see you again one day.
