Our beloved husband, father, great-grandfather and friend died at age 86 on February 28th.
Gene was born in San Diego to August and Charlotte Pohl, and grew up with his sister Marjorie and brother Eddie. He graduated from San Diego State University where he was a star baseball pitcher.
His greatest love was his wife, Margaret, with whom he would have celebrated 60 years on March 6th.
Gene is also survived by his children: Michael (David), Maureen, Eileen (John), Marianne (Scott), Jennifer (Tom), as well as his eight grandchildren: Cameron, Mason, Andrew, Samantha, Sarah, Liam, Colleen and Kerrigan, and his great-granddaughter, Brooklynn.
Dad loved the simple things in life, like Dodger baseball, country music and ice cream.
Dad was very proud of his service in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Services will be held Thursday, March 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 344 W. Workman Ave., Covina. A reception will follow at South Hills Country Club in West Covina.
You will forever remain in our hearts. Sleep tight, Soldier.
