90, dies; Memorial Saturday
Robert Eugene Neiman, Jr., a resident of Fullerton and formerly of Whittier, died on Valentine's Day at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton. He was 90.
A memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, Feb. 23, at First Presbyterian Church of Fullerton, 838 N. Euclid Street.
Neiman was born on April 23, 1922, in San Diego. Attending UCLA
when World War II began, he deployed to the European front. After the war, he helped administer the reconstruction in Europe and the settlement of refugees. He was a career officer in the US Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1964 to begin a new career in emergency management for Los Angeles County.
A long-time member of the Whittier Choralaires Barbershop Chorus, Bob's love for harmony, in music and in life, was paramount. He will be remembered for his devotion to his country, his family and his friends. He is survived by his sister Virginia Breedlove, son David Neiman, daughters Cathy Neiman, Gayle Triplett, and Maryann Neiman; grandchildren Angela, Jennifer, Kevin, Ryan and Deven; and great-grandchildren Isaac and Emily.
