Clarence J. Kamphaus
90, of Banning, CA, a former longtime resident of San Bernardino, passed away Wednesday, October, 24, 2012 in River- side, CA. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, of 31 years, children, Rosemary (Larry) Howell of Ohio, Paul (Candyce) Kamphaus of PA, Peter (Lera) Kamphaus of Germany, Karen (Kirk) Steely of TN, Denise Ayers of Highland, 12 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Also survived by his sister, Viola Figge, of NV. Clarence was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia. He proudly served his country, first in the U.S. Army, later in the Army Air Corp and then in the USAF. He served in WWII, the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts, totaling 33 years. After his military discharge, he was employed by the U.S. Civil Service and retired after 22 years. He is an American hero and was awarded three bronze stars for his bravery. Clarence is remembered for his warm humor and generosity. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, at Bobbitt's prior to graveside services.
Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, CA. Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent on-line at www.bobbittchapel.
