DAVID HENRY PLASENCIA Beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away suddenly July 31, 2010, in Apple Valley, CA. He was born in Fontana on March 25, 1960, to Pete and Carmen Plasencia, and spent the first part of his life there attending local schools. David played football at Fontana High School and became a Scholar Athlete there. The year he graduated his football team made it to the CIF finals. After graduation David attended The Phoenix Institute of Technology, where he completed his studies to become a draftsman, and was immediately employed by Fleetwood, where he worked for twenty-eight years. David enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his beloved pets, and you could count on him being at the river on those hot summer days. David had a love for astronomy, and on quiet evenings he could be found gazing at the night sky through his telescope. To call him a sports fanatic would not have been an exaggeration, since he loved ALL sports, including golfing, boating, and NASCAR. The Lakers have lost one of their greatest fans. David is survived by his mother, Carmen Plasencia; his brothers, Danny and Mike Plasencia; and his sisters, LuciAnn Walker and Linda Glaudel. He also leaves behind Jeanette Plasencia; and his children, Chrissy Reyas Bautista, Larry and Trinity Smith. His beloved grandchildren, Joey, Alana, Taylor, Jessica, Anthony, Nicolaus, Jesse, and Bella will miss him greatly, as will his nieces and nephews. David leaves behind his two cats, Sock-e and Sammy. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete, his grandson, Christopher, and his precious dogs, Bono and Sadie. David, your kind and gentle spirit touched all of our lives and we will miss you always. Scripture Service to be held at Dickey Mortuary, 8030 Mango Ave., Fontana, CA 92336 on Friday, August 6, 2010, at 7:30 P.M. - Patio gathering to follow.
