His wife of almost 60 years, Evelyn Hill, passed away on April 8, 2010. Hill's sister, Lois Cech, passed away in 2013. He spent his final years with a dear companion, Marjorie Kinsey.
Hill lived most of his 85 years in the San Bernardino area. He was a real estate appraiser and developer for some 50 years. He was an avid golfer and he and his wife were members of Arrowhead Country Club. Hill served as president of the San Bernardino Symphony and the Chamber of Commerce. He was active in numerous civic groups and non-profits throughout his life including St. Bernadine's Foundation and Inland Action. As a graduate of both San Bernardino Valley College and UCLA
, he kept in touch with alumni and attended many events. He also supported Cal State San Bernardino.
In addition to golf, Hill enjoyed orchestral music, sporting events and traveling. He played the piano and, earlier in life, the trombone. He and his wife loved to entertain. The family hosted a foreign exchange student in the mid-1970's and they maintained correspondence with people they met while traveling overseas.
He leaves behind family, friends, associates and colleagues that span his lifetime. Ranging from those since childhood he kept in contact with over the many years and those he knew only briefly. We sense a great loss. It will be difficult to forge ahead without him but we know he would want us to do just that. On line condolences may be left at www.bobbittchapel.com
