Services for Glenn Stotz will be held on Monday, October 8th at 11:00am at Dickey Mortuary, in Fontana. He passed away on Thursday, September 28th, unexpectedly at George E. Wahlen Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah with his family at his side. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 7th from 5pm- 9pm at Dickey's. He will be laid to rest, at Green Acres Memorial Park next to the love of his life, Marie.
Mr. Stotz, who was 86, was born in Buffalo, New York lived in Fontana since 1955, until 2007 when decided to move to Utah, after the death of his wife, Marie.
He served in the United States Navy
, where he was a "Seabee" and was proud to say he took part in the Invasion of Normandy.
The skills he acquired in the construction battalion, he put to good use in civilian life, owning Glen-Mar Construction, where he was involved in building homes and other structures, many of the old "Circle K" stores in the surrounding area. But mostly he enjoyed being (and taking extreme pride) in being a finish carpenter.
Glenn is survived by his daughter; Patty McCulley of Desert Hot Springs, son; Rod Stotz, of Layton, Utah three grandsons; Jimmy Newberry of Cambria, Jeremy Calnan of Desert Hot Springs, and Ryan Roush Stotz of Fontana, two great-grandchildren as well as many other loving nieces, nephews and family members.
Glenn will always be remembered for his strong will, big heart and helping hand.
