Kenneth John Lemond

On Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013, Ken LeMond, 77, was guided home peacefully by our Lord after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Joan (DeBoer) Newell and Elliott B. Newell, as well as his sister, Patricia Clark, and brother, Charles LeMond. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat; his sister, Eileen; his brother-in-law, Jim; his children, Karla, Sherri, Linda, Michael, Kristen and Matthew; his grandchildren, Tavish, Adam, Brittani, Trentan, David, Kaylie, Kelsey and Craig, and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Ken served in the U.S. Army in 1953 followed by a mission to the Netherlands in 1956. He went on to college from there and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1961. Soon after, he moved from Utah to California where he began his 35 year career with the Los Angeles County Probation Department. He was an avid reader who enjoyed photography and various outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking and backpacking. He also enjoyed traveling and had a special fondness for spending time in San Diego. Ken was a devoted family man and a dedicated Christian, as an active member of Sunrise Church in Rialto, CA.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 12th at 11:00am at Sunrise Church, 2759 N. Ayala Drive, Rialto, CA 92377. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research,
