Ronald E. Mosier

Ronald E. Mosier (U.S. Army, Retired)
December 19, 1929 to March 18, 2013

Ronald was born in Columbus, Ohio to Pearl and Edith Mosier. In 1946, at the age of 16, he enlisted in the United States Army. On December 5, 1953, in the city of Sierra Madre, he married Josephine Lord Mosier at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension. While in the service he attended the University of Maryland earning a Bachelor of Science
Degree and at the American University a Masters of Public Administration. He was stationed overseas in Italy, Germany twice, Korea, and France. His last assignment was the Pentagon. He retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1969, after 22 years of service, and moved to Pasadena, California. He worked for the Department of Water and Power in Los Angeles for 21 years as the head of the Computer Information Systems. After retiring from the DWP, he volunteered by preparing income tax returns for seniors.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine, daughters Shelby (Robert) Thistlewhite of Reno, Leigh (Art) Govea of Elk Grove, and Donna Mosier of Arcadia and grandchildren Sara, Samantha, Joshua and Amy Govea, and step grandchildren Robert Thistlewhite, Don (Stacy) Thistlewhite and step great grandchild Katelyn of Ladera Ranch and sister Linda Weick of Summerville, South Carolina, cousins Bob Mosier of Las Vegas and Jim Mosier of La Jolla, Georgia Tays of Los Angeles, Margaret Tays of Prescott, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother Thomas, Aunt Jane and Uncle Dude Mosier, Aunt Virginia Kenney, and cousin Elizabeth Anderson.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2013, 2:00 p.m., at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 25 East Laurel Avenue, Sierra Madre, CA.
