CAMPBELL, Rosalie Parker

Rosalie Parker Campbell, 87, of Arcadia, California passed Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Methodist Hospital from complications related to a stroke.

She was born May 26, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York the eldest daughter of Rosalie Bryant Geer and William Baylies Parker. She had many adventures with her brother, William Baylies Parker, Jr., and her sister, Katharine Faulkner Parker (now Stell). Rosalie married Raymond E. Campbell in 1952 after his return from the Navy and his completion of Medical School. They moved to California for his residency at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, later moving to Arcadia where he established his practice with Drs. Anderson and Drake. They settled in Arcadia where they raised their children.
Rosalie attended the Berkeley Carroll School in Brooklyn, New York. She went on to graduate from Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

She is survived by her husband Raymond E. Campbell M.D., daughter Anne Bryant Campbell, sons Raymond Edward Campbell Jr., David Stuart Campbell and her sister Katharine Parker Stell. She is also survived by her four loving grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Katharine Bradford Campbell and her brother William Baylies Parker Jr.

Some of her best memories were of the summers spent on Long Island with the extended family at Westhampton Beach or with her immediate family in La Jolla, California. In her later years, she also became very fond of her trips to Kauai with her husband Ray and their children and grandchildren. An avid reader, Rosalie had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed gardening, poetry and nature, though nothing compared to her love for her children and grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 400 West Duarte Road, Arcadia, CA 91007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Per her wishes, her ashes will be placed privately by the family off the coast of La Jolla, California, a long time family retreat.
