Roy Hodson Herbert

Herbert Roy Hodson
86, passed away on December 18th, 2013 with family by his side after a courageous battle with a life ending stoke.
Herbert or Herb as he was known to his friends was born Nov. 1, 1927 in Colton, California to Ruth Marsh Hodson and Thomas Whitelark Hodson Sr. He grew up in Colton, and was a long time resident of Rialto, and most recently resided on Balboa Island in Newport Beach. Herb graduated from Colton High School in 1946. Herb joined the United States Army after high school and served as a member of the signal corp. During his years in the Army he was awarded both the Expert Rifleman ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal.
After his service to the Army he went to work for Wright's manufacturing, in Colton. He belonged to the Sheet Metal Workers Union and he also was a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineer's Society. After 35 years in the Heating and Air Conditioning field Herb retired.
Herbert is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Hodson , daughter Kathryn and her husband Rick Stapleton, two grandchildren, Jason and his wife Jennifer Stapleton, Jenee' and her husband Thad Laferriere, and great grandson Adler Laferriere. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Stanley Hodson.
Graveside service will be held at Green Acres Memorial Park 11715 Cedar Avenue Bloomington, California 92316, on Friday December 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
