Sam Parker, 86, died unexpectedly from complications of a fall in December. Born to Jeannette and Curtis Parker in Moundsville, WV, Sam arrived in
Pasadena as a 9-month old, along with his older brother, Chuck. He attended Pasadena schools graduating from Pasadena Junior College. Sam served in the Army
Air Corps at the end of WWII
and spent time in Japan and the Philippines. Once discharged, he headed to Southern Methodist University gracing the campus with his strong baritone voice accompanied by his beloved ukulele. Married to Catherine Brown, they raised three children: Patricia Christensen (Don) of Banning, Susanna Rosman (David) of Santa Monica and Samuel (Cindy) of Riverside. Sam work in the aerospace industry until his retirement in 1989. In l977, he married Muriel O'Hea and they shared a wonderful life together. He loved her, his cabin cruiser, golf, traveling and problem solving for anyone needing help. He was a good man with a warm and generous heart and had a positive outlook on life. Sam is survived by his wife, three children, four grandchildren and one great grandson. A gathering will be held in Santa Monica to remember his long and happy life.
