Stella Maris WENGER

WENGER, Stella Maris

Stella Maris Wenger passed away in her sleep on Saturday morning June 22, 2013 following a massive heart attack. Born in Santa Fe, Argentina on March 17, 1926 to Jose Tuosto and Maria Del Carmen Puertas de Tuosto. Having studied nursing and education she worked in both careers. Her favorite was nursing. For many years she worked at Santa Fe's
tuberculosis hospital. A severe injury to her arm precluded her from starting her first year at medical school. However, it allowed for her to meet the person who changed her life, Teofilo Enrique Wenger, her husband and love of her life. Married in 1951 they shared their life together until Teo passed away in 2004.
During 1961 Teo and Stella moved their young family to Southern California where she continued her nursing career. Stella loved her hobbies. When not reading she could be found behind her knitting needles, at her knitting machine, crocheting, lace making, sewing and more. She was always busy but not busy enough to enjoy her family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother to not only her daughters but all who entered her life.
She will be missed by her daughters Elisabeth Wenger Walkin and Ingrid Wenger Meadows; her son-in-law John Walkin who helped her with all her home projects and Brian Lee Biedebach who helped her the same way he helped his mother; her grandchildren, who delighted her life, Ian and Brian Meadows and Frank and Raquel Walkin; her niece, Cristina Tuosto Better; her nephews, Miguel Angel Tuosto, Jorge Tuosto (deceased) and John Tuosto and many other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a donation in her memory to the Convalescent Aid Society in Pasadena.
