William "Bill" Yearl Grimlan
William "Bill" Yearl Grimlan, 65, of Fontana passed away Friday, March 22, surrounded by his family.
Born July 2, 1947 in Loma Linda, he was a resident of Fontana for 60 years. Bill graduated from Fontana High School in 1965. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a crew chief on helicopters in Vietnam. He worked at Kaiser Steel for 18 years and retired from the electrical union, IBEW Local 477, in 2007. After retirement he enjoyed renovating homes. Bill loved to hunt, fish, go camping, and most of all he loved to go 4-wheel driving with his son-in-law, Jason, in the 1975 Bronco he restored.
Bill is survived by his wife June; son Bill of Fontana; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Jason Baechel; granddaughters Jillian and Jaycie Baechel of Fontana; sister and brother-in-law Donna and Louis Papeneau of Yucaipa and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Clifton and Verna.
Services are scheduled for Monday, April 1 at 9 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 9315 Citrus Ave in Fontana with internment at Riverside National Cemetery at noon. Dickey Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
