Born on February 1, 1932 in San Bernardino, Danny passed away August 5, 2012, at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Velia; and 3 children: Elizabeth Malpass and husband Ken, of Taree, Australia; Luci and husband Michael Aldaco of El Cerrito; Ron and wife Sylvia of Yucaipa. Danny's son Chuck preceded him in death. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Thomas and Bryan Malpass of Australia, Miguel Aldaco of Washington D.C., Natalia and Nico Aldaco of El Cerrito: Matt Laumer of Riverside; Nathan and Grace Castruita of Beaumont, and their mother, Sharon Laumer; Victor Bolin of Hawaii; Luke Pfeiffer of Yucaipa; and one great-grandchild, Cristina L. Martinez Aldaco of El Cerrito. He is also survived by brother Gene Castruita of Highland. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and was a USPS mail carrier for 32 years. He was also an active member of the San Bernardino Knights of Columbus for many years. Rosary will be Monday, August 13 at 6 p.m. and funeral services will be Tuesday, August 14 at 11 a.m., both at Mark B. Shaw Mortuary (1525 North Waterman Avenue, SB), with interment following at Mountain View Cemetery.
