Catherine Dawn Nelson
Loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Dawn passed away in West Covina, California, on May 30, 2013, surrounded by her family.
Dawn was born Catherine Dawn McNeely in Binghamton, New York; she spent most of her life in Covina, California. During two decades as a district secretary at Radio Shack, she was universally recognized as a friend and mentor. Dawn made friends very easily, thanks to her quick wit, and her love of laughter and people. She also loved animals; she always had her beloved dogs, with Buffy and Bandit being the most recent. But most important to Dawn was her family, who loved her back immensely.
She is survived by her sons Jim and John, her daughters Linda and Karen, and by her best friend and soul mate Casey; by her grandchildren Cassie, Jennifer, Michele, Myles and Madison; by her great-grandsons Mikey, Blake, Jace and Rylee; and by her brother Jim and half-sisters Judith and Sharon.
Memorial donations can be made in Dawn's name to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (www.aspca.org).
