March 11, 1960 - August 15, 2013

Cathy was born in Los Angeles to parents Paul and Evelyn Christel. She attended Kester Avenue School, St. Elisabeth School and Corvallis High School. With her love of animals, she attended classes at the Los Angeles Zoo, volunteered, was hired part-time, then full time, working there specializing in breeding, raising and caring for flamingoes, for over 30 years until her retirement. Her artistic talents lead her to photography, making many of her photos into greeting cards. She enjoyed creating jewelry, holiday and gourd decorating, pottery, antiquing, swapmeets, etc. Cathy and her parents were involved in a Western Riding club at the L.A. Equestrian Center for many years, where she also took polo lessons and in 1989 joined her parents on a cattle drive in Colorado. Cathy continued caring for and rescuing animals and had two horses, three dogs and two cats at her home in Burbank. Paul, Cathy's father, passed away in 1995, but she leaves many loving family members and friends who will miss her dearly. There are no words to express the gratitude for the prayers, love and support given to Cathy and her family from everyone we know.
