Donald Lee Fair
59, of Mooresville NC, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at his home.
He was born in Loma Linda, CA on August 29, 1954 to the late Joseph M. Fair and Eleanor Olberg Shovey, who is surviving. Donald was a fabricator for 18 years with Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as past president of the Men's Bible Class and also served as an elder and a deacon.
Donald had an avid love for racing. He raced sprint cars and built off road race cars.
In addition to his mother, Donald is survived by his wife, Jerilyn Atkins Fair; daughters, Meredith Knox and husband, Luke, Morgan Fair and fiancé, Justin Lefler; son, Donovan Fair; brothers, David, Daniel and Richard Fair; sister, Elaine Freemon and grandson, Eli Knox.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Michael McDowell officiating. Visitation for family and friends will follow in the church parlor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 249 W. McLelland Ave., Mooresville, NC 28115 and/or JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
