Dorcas Grace Clark Obituary
CLARK, Dorcas Grace

Born in Camas Washington January 15, 1928 passed away December 30 2013 in Northridge,California.

She is survived by three children, and three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Dorcas was an amazing woman of strength, faith and
courage, despite insurmountable odds. She contracted polio in 1955 and was left a total quadriplegic., unable to walk, grasp anything, but very much in control of her mind and her voice. She didn't give in. She organized her life and her household by giving directions to her caregivers and to her children. She raised 3 strong, independent children who respected and obeyed her. She taught her children the true meaning of Faith in an everlasting God, and grace through a loving Savior Jesus Christ. She was active in Church, in small groups, ministering to other hurting people, was a mighty prayer warrior. She made many friends and inspired many people. She wrote poetry by using a mouth stick to type out the letters. She painted oil paintings holding the brush in her mouth. She wrote the newsletter for the totally disabled helpers association and was instrumental in getting more benefits for the handicapped. Anyone who knew Dorcas knows that she is dancing and leaping for joy in heaven now! She passed from respiratory failure due to post polio syndrome.

Funeral services will be held at Custer Christiansen Mortuary 124 S. Citrus Covina, Calif at 10:00 AM on January 10, 2014. Graveside service at Live Oak Cemetery 200 E. Duarte Rd in Monrovia at noon on the 10th.
