Was born to the late Mr. Allen Belew and Nannie Mae Clark on March 29, 1925 in the city of Milan, Tennessee and passed on August 25, 2013. She attended school in that city. After the death of her parents, she moved to Champaign, Illinois and was raised by her older sister; the late Jennie Long and her soon to be husband the late Eldridge Long. At a very young age she gave her life to Christ and united with Mount Olive Baptist Church. While as a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, she served as a member of the Usher Board and various other committees. During her years in Champaign, Illinois she was employed as a housekeeper for various families.
In the late 1950's she met her husband-to-be Joel H. Frazier, Sr. The couple became engaged and on September 15, 1960 they were married in Tacoma, Washington. Their marriage was blessed by the arrival of their child Joel H. Frazier, Jr. In the late 1960's her family moved to California and in 1968 they arrived in San Bernardino, California where she would enjoy a long and prosperous life. In 1969 Ella joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in San Bernardino, CA where she remained a member. She has served on the Usher Board and held various offices during the early years of her service. Ella is also retired from the San Bernardino Unified School District having served as a matron during her period of service. Ella's hobbies included gardening, listening to music and playing board games.
Ella is survived by her husband, Joel H. Frazier, Sr. and son, Joel H. Frazier, Jr. of Ontario, CA. In addition to her immediate family, Ella will be missed by her in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Viewing will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 6:00pm 8:00pm at Mark B. Shaw Funeral Chapel in San Bernardino, CA. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 4, 2013, 10:00am at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1575 W. 17th Street, San Bernardino, CA 92411. Burial will follow at Riverside National Cemetery, in Riverside, CA. Services entrusted to the care of Mark B. Shaw Funeral Directors.
