The Guest Book is expired.
"Pidy", 85, was born in Fontana and raised in Cucamonga CA. In the morning of August 9, 2012, she passed away peacefully, with her daughters at her bedside.
She was the devoted wife of her darling husband, Richard P Lopez. Shortly after they met in 1943, Richard was drafted into the service of his country during WWII. While he was serving in the South Pacific, they carried on a one year correspondence courtship. On 1-25-44 they were united in marriage in Orange, CA.
They made their loving home in Colton, CA for the past 60 years, where they raised their beautiful family. Their home was a haven of rest and hospitality for who visited; especially their grandchildren.
In the early years of their marriage, Pidy also served her country by working in the factory assembly lines which produced supplies for the servicemen. For over 30 years, Pidy found fulfillment working as a waitress at the restaurant located in the exclusive Harris Company Department Store in San Bernardino. She was a beautiful, loving and caring waitress. These qualities earned her a large measure of loyalty from her customers; and admiration from her co-workers, supervisors, and owners of the company.
She found strength in her faith as a long time member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall congregation in Colton. A second memorial service will be held on August 25, 2012 at 3:00p.m.
She will be forever, loved and remembered for her loving heart, gently spirit, and warm dimpled smile. She will be missed by her husband Richard, daughters Diana Bocanegra (Lolo); Patricia Bocanegra (Frank); Theresa Hart Flatt (Donnie); son Richard Lopez, Jr. (Millie); 2 brothers, 3 sisters; numerous grandchildren and relatives.
A memorial service will be held for relatives and close friends on August 21, 2012 at 11:00a.m. at The Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary located at 3520 East Washington St., Colton, CA.
