Grace Buchanan
89, formerly of San Bernardino and Apple Valley, died Monday, June 24th in Peyton, Colorado. Passing with her were her son, James, and his wife Annetta. Born July, 9, 1923, in Hastings Nebraska, Grace was one of nine children born to Benjamin and Mary McWhirter. The family moved to Boise, Idaho while Grace was still a child. She met and married Ishmael Buchanan in Boise, and later moved to Seattle. The couple moved to San Bernardino in 1960, where they raised their five sons. When Ishmael retired, he and Grace moved to the peace and quiet of Apple Valley. Grace was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and she loved The LORD. She enjoyed working in her garden and listening to radio programs. Having grown up during the Great Depression, she was the thriftiest person you could ever meet. Grace is survived by sons David(Ronda) of Yucaipa CA, Michael of Seattle WA, Richard(Beth) of Poulsbo WA, and Shawn of Layton UT, 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 9:00am @ Montecito Chapel, 3520 Washington St, Colton CA with burial following at Riverside National Cemetery.
