Harrell Frank Kloke Obituary
KLOKE, Harrell Frank
July 12,1915-April 17, 2012

Born in Spencer, Nebraska. Moved to Columbus, Ohio at age 12. Arrived in California in 1932 where he attended North Hollywood High School. He became a cheer leader and was given the nickname "Corky." He met Madalyn Peggy) Spurgeon (later known as Jan) and they married in 1936. They were married for 60 years. Harrell was a Pasadena businessman for 40 years as owner ofKloke's liquor stores specializing in fine wines. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, President of the Junior Chamber in 1949, member of the Tournament of Roses for 60 Years, President of the East Pasadena Kiwanis in the 1950's, member of the Power Squadron for boating, and member of Table Round, a wine tasting group.

After selling his stores, he got his appraiser's license and sold real estate in Pasadena and then Newport Beach where he lived for 30 years. His hobbies included deep sea fishing, golf, tennis and later boating on "Forty Carat" in Newport and Marina Del Rey.

He had one brother, Donovan (Don) Kloke of Burlington, WA (deceased.) Harrell is survived by: 2 children - Karen Trueblood and son-in-law Thomas Trueblood of Tustin, CA and Sheri Guerin and son-in-law Michael Guerin of Upland CA.4 grandchildren - Scott Atlas, Derek Robertson, Dustin Robertson &Kimberly Cordell.7 Great Grandchildren: Koby& Austin Atlas; Faith &Derek Robertson; Miranda &Brooke Robertson and Alex Rodriguez. As well as great grandfather to Cole Taggart and Cheyenne Hernandez.2 Nephews: Dennis Kloke & Douglas Kloke of Washington State.

A memorial service was held by the immediate family on May 1 at the Wee Kirk 0' Heather Chapel, Forest Lawn, Glendale. Harrell's father worked there in the 1930's and it is the same chapel where Harrell and Madalyn were married over 75 years ago.
