Helen Marie Ross Obituary
ROSS, Helen Marie

Helen Marie Ross, 88, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 25th, at the Atherton Baptist Homes.

She is survived by children James and wife Patricia, Jeffrey and wife Gloria, Janine and husband Less, Jon, Joan and husband Kevin; grandchildren Sherry and husband Tony; Corey; Stephanie, Michael and wife Jessica, Erin, Matthew, Kristen and Jon; and great-grandchildren Nicolas, Jacob, Addison and Adam; as well as a large extended family and many friends.

Helen was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts and raised in Nashua, New Hampshire. She attended St. Aloysius Catholic School in Nashua and went on to study at St. Vincent's
College of Nursing in Los Angeles, where she became a Registered Nurse. After nursing school, she married Bert, and together they raised their five children.

When their children were in school, Helen served in various volunteer roles at St. Anthony's School in San Gabriel. Among others, she was a Cub Scout den mother and President of the PTA.

When their children were grown, she was finally able to put her nursing education to use on something other than patching up the various cuts and scrapes that the neighborhood children brought her way. She embarked on a second career as an RN at St. Anne's Home for the Aged, in Los Angeles.

When St. Anne's Home closed in 1976, she embarked on her third career as office manager for Father Thomas Doyle at St. John of God Catholic Church in Norwalk.

Helen was preceded in death 18 months ago by her husband Bert. It has been a long 18 months for her. Now it is time for her to join Bert in the blessings of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Rosary on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 7 PM. Funeral on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 10 AM. Both at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 1901 S. San Gabriel Blvd. San Gabriel.
