LORRAINE MARY ENNEKING, 91
Lorraine Mary (Van Voorhis) Enneking, 91, passed away January 21 2014 in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
Lorraine was born in White Bear Lake, Minnesota to Ralph and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Van Voorhis on March 28, 1922. She graduated from Humboldt High School in Saint Paul in 1940. Moving to California in 1941, she became a bookkeeper by profession, and was quickly promoted to the position of head cashier at the Brown Derby restaurant.. Following that she became a bookkeeper for Marion McCoy Originals apparel company. Lorraine made many life-long friends and met her future husband in the "M and M" Social Club through her local Catholic Church in the 1940's. She married John Enneking in January of 1950, and had a son, Stephen Alan Enneking. She enjoyed hosting holiday get-togethers throughout the decades, and also loved animals. She was often thought of as the "lady with the menagerie" comprised of various dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, turtles and more. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards with friends, movies, reading, crossword puzzles and most of all spending time with her family. Lorraine was a long time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Upland, California.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband John Martin Enneking, three brothers Donald, James and Howard, and three sisters, Jane, June, Marion.
Lorraine is survived by her sister Dorothy (Van Voorhis) Heinlen of Isle, Minnesota, her son Stephen of Pomona, California and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's church in Upland, California on Friday, January 31st at 11:00 a.m. Father Timothy Do of St. Joseph's Church officiating.
Drapers Mortuary in Ontario, California is handling all of the funeral arrangements.
