Marvin Secord Green
Was born in Tyrone, Pennsylvania September 17, 1923. He passed away on July 14, 2012. He lived in Oneonta, NY until moving to California in 1953. He has resided in Apple Valley, CA the past 26 years.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Donna Mae Green, a brother William M. Green of Hopkinton, NH, a daughter Catherine A. Wilson & Frank of Chino, CA, a stepson Danny Hankla & Cheryl of Oak Hills, CA, 2 stepdaughters, Carolyn Jahan & Steve of San Clemente, CA and Nancy Poole & Dave of Grants Pass, OR, a granddaughter Meredith Wilson Regan of Petaluma, CA, 5 step grandsons and 3 step granddaughters, 10 great grandchildren, a nephew, two nieces and a great niece. He was preceded in death by a stepson Jerry Hankla.
He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during
1943-1946 in the South Pacific and was employed with General Dynamics for 25+ years.
He was a long standing member of the Apple Valley Moose Lodge #1810 and was a member of the SPEBSQSA Barbershop Harmony for many years.
He liked to play pool, bowl and play slots at the casinos. Loved being with loved ones and traveled many places with the love of his life Donna.
Friends and family are invited to the services on Friday 7/20/12 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary @ 24000 Waalew Rd., Apple Valley. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m., services at 11:00 a.m. and burial service following.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army online, or send a check to Salvation Army, PO Box 1092, Victorville 92393 "In honor of Marvin Green".
