Mildred L. Johnson passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family and friends on Saturday, August 31, 2013, in Upland, California.
Millie ("Mimi" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren) was born in Wheaton, MN, on May 9, 1921, to Carl and Esther Magnuson. She moved to Glendale, CA, in the 1940s and soon met and married Ernest Victor Johnson of Pasadena. They made their home in Altadena for more than four decades. A secretary and homemaker, Millie was active in the Pasadena Covenant Church and the local chapter of P.E.O.
Millie is survived by her sister, Betty Tennyson of Arcadia, CA; her daughter, Connie Muecke of Ontario, CA and her two sons, Geoff and Greg Blum and their families; as well as daughter Carole Melis of San Mateo, CA and her two sons, David and John Melis. Millie was blessed with five great granddaughters: Mia, Ava, Audrey, Kayla and Madison.
She was loved and appreciated for her devotion to God, commitment to her family, loyalty to friends, and her strong sense of humor. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years as well as her sister Avis Magnuson and brother Vincent Magnuson.
Funeral services are private and internment will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, CA.
