Nancy Rose Norem May Obituary
May, Nancy Rose Norem

Nancy May of Monrovia, California passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 18, 2012.
Nancy was born in Aurora, Illinois on March 23, 1933, daughter of the late Rosella Jewett and Clifford Norem. She was a graduate of Los Angeles High School and went on to graduate from Occidental College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Society.
Nancy was preceded in death by her late husband Delmar W. May of Santa Barbara. She is survived by her half brother Burt Norem of Golden, Colorado, her stepsister Virginia Enns of Reno, Nevada and her three sons and their families; Neil and Isabel Edwards of La Verne, CA, Peter and Camille Edwards of Zurich, Switzerland and John and Lisa Edwards of Glendale, CA. She was cherished by her Grandchildren; Thomas, Alec, Lillian, Gordon, Marina, Jonathan, Eva, Jason and Mila. Her family was so important in all that she did in her daily life.
Nancy's passion was music. She devoted much of her time in the latter years to singing in the Claremont Chorale and was a longtime member of the American Guild of Organists. Nancy was a most generous person, donating countless hours of her time volunteering and reading for the Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, Santa Barbara Unit.
Nancy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, family member and friend. She was kind, thoughtful, intelligent, a wonderful listener, attentive and had the ability to make everyone in her life feel special.
In celebration of Nancy's life, a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 10:00 at The First United Methodist Church, 500 East Colorado Blvd, Pasadena.
The family suggests any remembrances be made in her memory to the or the Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, Santa Barbara Unit.
