Phillip Castro
86, passed away in San Bernardino on March 5, 2014. Phil retired from the United States Army; Company A, 1st Special Forces Group Airborne, as a Staff Sergeant Major. He served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After his faithful service to his country, he worked for Fairview Ford as a mechanic for 35 years. Phil loved breeding birds, farming, swap meets, gardening and listening to the Dodgers on the radio. He was also a proud member of the Republican Party.
He is survived by Yoko, his loyal wife of almost 50 years. Also surviving him are his children Cindy, Jack, Jay and Vickie, three grandchildren and his siblings Elias, Irenio, Rachel and Carol.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 19th, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA 92404 with a graveside service, with full military honors to follow at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside.
