Brown, Ray Alvin
Ray Alvin Brown, was born on April 5, 1935 in Keithville, Louisana to the union of Walter B. Brown and Edella J. Brown. He moved to Pasadena, California with his parents and brother, as a young child. He attended Madison Elementary School, Washington Junior HIgh School and graduated from the high school division of John Muir College.
Ray was a career employee of the County of Los Angeles Department of Heath Services. He began his career in Radiology at USC General Hospital as a Student Radiologic Techician on October 14, 1954. He worked his way up to the top position of the Radiology Division and retired as teh Chief Radioligist in 1992 with 38 years of service. It was there at General Hospital where he met the love of his life, Shirley A. Lindsey. They were married on November 27, 1957 in Long Beach, California. To this union were born two sons, Eric and Evan. Ray was a devoted husband and dedicated father to his family.
Ray was a member of the Scott United Methodist Church in Pasadena, California for more then 60 years and he participated on numerous boards and committees over the many years of dedicated Christian service. Ray also served as a Board Member of the Medical Center's Credit Union (First City) for more then 25 years.
Ray transitioned from this life on March 3, 2013 in Pasadena, California and is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Shirley. He also leaves to cherish his memory, sons Eric (Cheryl), Evan (Hanako Lorraine), grandchildren Brittaney and Eric Jr. Finally, too many to name are a hosts of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Scott United Methodist Church, Pasadena, California
