Raymond Lea Ross
Claremont, died at home on Jan. 12, 2013. He was born Feb. 4, 1928 in Glendale and raised in Alhambra. Graduated 1946 Mark Keppel High School and enlisted in the Coast Guard. He later worked for the Southern CA Gas Co., owned businesses, and settled on a career in construction management. After his 1990 retirement, he worked part-time as a consultant.
Until health issues intervened, he was active in the Claremont Presbyterian Church. A board member of Westminster Gardens, he belonged to computer and 3D photo- graphy clubs. His other interests were travel, genealogy, and archeology. He was a voracious reader, an entertaining story- teller, and delighted visitors over the years with his "Tour of LA." Ray is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margie; two siblings; five children: Robin Hayhurst (Bruno Bornino); Ronda (Eldon) Taylor; Russell Ross; Rosann (Victor) Marlen; Renée (Ron) Rodriguez; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
A memorial celebration of Ray's life will be held Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at 1:30pm at the Claremont Presbyterian Church, 1111 N. Mountain Ave, Claremont. Donations may be sent to: The
