Born in San Jose, Costa Rica of missionary parents, Bob came to California at age 10.
Devoted husband and loving father Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carleen, and 3 children, Ted, Susie and Patty. A son, Steve, preceded him in death. He has 7 grandchildren and two great grand daughters. He is also survived by his brother Walt. His sister, Betty, preceded him in death.

A WWII veteran, he served as a Sergeant in the Signal Corps of the Army Air Force, serving in England and France.

Bob was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church in East Whittier for nearly 50 years and later the Banning United Methodist Church.
During the early years of his marriage, using his fluent Spanish, he was a teacher, principal and pastor at the Instituto Pan Americano, a Methodist school and church in Panama City, Republica of Panama.

He attended Fremont High School, Los Angeles, graduated from USC with a BA in Social Work and teaching and counseling credentials. He was a teacher and counselor at John Muir Jr. H.S. in Los Angeles, and his last 17 years before retirement, was a counselor at Pioneer High School in Whittier, CA.

Memorial services to be held Saturday, February 22, 2014, 11:00 a.m., Banning United Methodist Church.
