Robert Olivas
Serrano Sr.
Born Mother's Day; May 9, 1944, Robert was called home on Father's Day, June 21, 2015, surrounded by his loving wife and sons. An ordained Deacon, he was instrumental in helping his youngest son; an ordained Pastor, create The Narrow Gate Ministries Church in Fontana, of which he was an Elder and leader. Robert had been involved in various ministries for over 40 years. Robert was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, along with a spiritual father and mentor to men of all ages that he came in contact with. He also had a precious extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews. Robert loved his family. His favorite pastimes were golf, watching Lakers Basketball and Dodger Baseball; while enjoying spring training in Arizona as often as he could. Serving his Lord and Savior was his passion; while mentoring other men as a father-figure was a direct call on his life. Robert was a graduate of Upland High School and worked as an industrial mason with the Laborers Union for over seventeen years, until he had to retire due to health issues. Robert is survived by his wife, Helen, of the home; two sons; Robert Jr. (Caroline) of Chino, and Phillip (Adriana) of Fontana, two brothers; Richard and Neto, three sisters; Carmen, Sylvia and Christina, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; Edward & Sophia, and four brothers; Edward, Sammy, Jesse and Michael. Funeral services are to be held Saturday, June 27th, 2015 at Abundant Living Family Church, 10900 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Services will begin at 11:00 am.

I will miss my "Pinones" that's what I called him because he loved pine nuts. Always asking me why I always come back from New Mexico and why hadn't I brought him any. I love you Robert. You are soooo missed.
