Thelma Margaret Cooper

Thelma Margaret Cooper, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & friend, was born in Long Beach, CA. on May 12, 1928. She graduated from mortality on 1/27/2013. Thelma is survived by her husband of 37 yrs. Emmett K. Cooper, daughters Debby (Bill) Lynge & Sheri (Wes) Snell, and step son Kenneth (Molly) Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chalmer & Thelma Donovan, sister, Sonya Ludlow & daughter, Diana Haley. Additional posterity includes 8 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren whom she was so proud of and dearly loved. Thelma worked for over 20 years at Rockwell International as an executive secretary. She excelled not only at work but in anything she decided was worth pursuing. Among some of her favorite pastimes were reading, traveling, socializing, eating out, and going to plays. She was extremely well organized and loved to plan trips or fun events for friends and family. She will live in the hearts and memories of her children & grandchildren forever due to her great efforts in making them feel special. Many are the wonderful trips and activities she planned that will long be remembered by her posterity. Another love of her life was her poodles, Monique & Gingersnap. They received the same attention and care that any of her children would. She was very generous in her willingness to help anyone in need whether it was family, friend or other charitable cause. Thelma belonged to several organizations including the Eastern Star, Long Beach Community Playhouse, Long Beach Petroleum Club & Sigma Phi Gamma. Many hours of her time and energy were spent promoting the charitable needs of these organizations. Thelma will be greatly missed and her legacy will be carried on for many generations to come. Funeral services will be held on Wed. 1/30/13 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel at 1500 E. San Antonio Dr., Long Beach Ca. There will be a closed casket viewing 1 hr. prior to the funeral.
