Severo M. Valdes
A life long resident of Colton went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2014. He passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 55 years Louise "Lee" Saldana Valdes. He was born on April 25, 1920, retired from Santa Fe RR after 35 years, was a World War II Veteran, an artist, craftsman and avid photographer. He is survived by his sister Victoria Mendoza, children Mark (Linda) Valdes, Linda (Aurelio) DeLaTorre, John (Dorene) Valdes. Grandchildren Jesse DeLaTorre (Rascal and Pudgy), Marcus (Therese) Valdes, Selena (Brandon) Ortiz, Nicholas (Summerly) DeLaTorre, Dustin (Estella) Valdes, Brandon Valdes, Karlee Valdes. Great grandchildren Graison, Kailee, Jester, Kayzei, Daytona, Nicholas Jr. Sara, Sedona, Marina, Gabriel, and his very close friend Genevieve Adame. Brothers-in-law, Sisters-in-law and many nephews and nieces. He was a father figure to many and loved family gatherings. He will always be remembered for helping family and friends with any new projects. We are so blessed to have had him for 94 years.
Celebration Services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014, 11:00 am at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 785 Colton Ave., Colton. Interment following at Hermosa Cemetery, 900 Meridian St., Colton.
