Obituary Condolences

Age 63, of North Hills, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2011 in Reno, Nevada, beside his daughter, Jennifer Baryol and son-in-law, Paul Eric Baryol, after losing his battle with cancer. James was born in Chicago, Illinois, August 25, 1947 to Victor Albert Johnson and Marie Johnson (Nelson). They moved to North Hills in 1952 and he graduated from James Monroe High School in 1965 and joined the United States Air Force in 1966. He married the late Sally Sima in 1967, they lived in Mission Hills, A before relocating to Carson City, Nevada in 1981. James, a prolific inventor, always looked up to Thomas Edison; Jim invented or contributed to the first LED/Digital watches, 8" computer floppy disk interface, first computerized security system using a magnetic card reader, just a few of his many inventions and accomplishments. James is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Baryol, Reno, NV; mother, Marie Johnson, North Hills, CA; brothers, Daniel Johnson, Orange, CA, Clifford Johnson, Reseda, CA, Andrew Johnson, Redlands, CA, and Stephen Johnson, Murietta, CA; and sisters, Christine Van Patten, La Quinta, CA, and Lisa Caston, Mission Hills, CA. He is predeceseade by his father and sister, Sonja Wray (Johnson). A Memorial will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at The Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, 10000 Sepulveda Blvd., Mission Hills, CA 91345.
