VERA M. BAILIE
November 30, 1919 - May 8, 2012
Vera was born in Stotts City, Missouri as the third child of eight on November 30, 1919 to Frank and Myrtle Martin. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent H. Bailie in 1993 and her grandson, David Vincent Gilmore in 1987.
Her life was filled with happiness and love until the very end at 92 years of age. An independent and strong woman, she continued to drive and have her hair done every week until the week before she suffered a fall on April 5th that debilitated her.
The loving family that remains includes sons, Dan (Pat) Gilmore, Jerry (Kim) Gilmore, and Richard (Mercy) Bailie; grandchildren, Dannie (Janine) Gilmore, Lisa (Nick) Saravia, Shannon (Carlos) Campos, Sharrie (Butch) Mize, and Joie Miller; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Two younger sisters, Toni Ives and Evelyn Riddle of Nevada and Texas also survive.
Services will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary: 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd., Westlake Village, CA. A viewing will occur at 1pm and a service at 2pm in the Chapel of the Oaks. A memorial luncheon will follow at the Thousand Oaks
#2477 by the Ladies of the Elks, Vera's favorite group.
Vera and Vince were longtime supporters of charitable events with the Elks Lodge. Vera was a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. "You are and will be loved forever!"
