Roger Edmond
Was born on Feb 3, 1952 to Willie Mae Atlas & Archie Edmond in Riverside, Ca. Shortly after his birth his family relocated to San Bernardino, Ca. He went on to graduate from San Bernadino High School in 1970. He was very active in sports, in particular, football and was named All-League in wrestling. An avid singer, Roger also sang in the school choir. In later years, he continued his education & received an Associate of Arts degree from San Bernardino Valley College.
Roger was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Willie Mae Atlas and David Williams, and his brother Jessie Smith. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon, his two daughter, Latrice and Adrienne, his so-in-law, Micayle, and his beloved granddaughters, Adrienne and Andrea. He will also be greatly missed by his two brothers, Fredrick Smith Sr. and Irvin Robinson, as well as his nieces, nephew, and large host of cousins and other relatives.
Roger was employed by the city of San Bernardino, as a supervisor for the maintenance crews. He was a beloved mentor to all who worked with him. Roger's collogues & those he supervised have all expressed his willingness to help others, his professionalism, & dedication to his job. He lead by example and encouraged those around to do an be there best.
Visitation will be held at the Mark B Shaw Funeral Chapel 1525 N Waterman Ave, San Bernardino, Ca Wednesday, Dec 26th at 5pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 11:00 am at the Westside Christian Center located at 785 North Arrowhead Avenue San Bernardino, CA 92401
