LEOTA "LEE" DeCUIR

Lee DeCuir was carried away suddenly, surrounded by a shooting star, a rainbow and her family, in Long Beach on December 29, 2012.

Born to Joseph and Sarah Miller in Epiphany, South Dakota, on August 6, 1926, Lee is survived by husband, Laurence DeCuir; children, Joseph, Paul, Edwin, Jane and Robert DeCuir, and their spouses, Deborah, Linda, Vicky and Dana; sister, Maxine Harder; brother, Robert Miller; and grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Margo, Margaret, Thomas and Rebecca DeCuir.

This lover of nature, avid bowler and award-winning rosarian was also active in the Catholic Church, and employed her long professional nursing experience as a volunteer for several charitable organizations. Lee's zest for life, her kindness, her humor and her enthusiasm for beauty will be missed: "How can anyone look at this rose and say there is no God?"

Services will be held Saturday morning, January 19th; call Crawford Mortuary at (818) 349-9701, for time and place. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to any charity for the poor and downhearted, and encourages the daily practice of telling someone "I love you."
