Claire Lenney Stone of Covina died peacefully in her sleep on January 26, 2013. She was married to the love of her life William Stone for almost 56 years. She was born in St Louis, Missouri in 1924. She is also survived by her daughter Laurie Kirkland (Eric) of Laguna Beach and Richard Stone (Gladys) of Covina, plus her grandchildren Miranda Loeffler (Nick), Wyatt Kirkland, Dorothy Witherby (Todd) and great grandson Matthew.
She had been deeply involved with the Covina Valley
Historical Society, St Louise Church Choir, Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Gardens in Claremont, Workman and Temple Family Homestead in Industry, Friends of the Covina Public Library, Covina Vintage Years Program, The Sierra Club, League of Woman Voters, AAUW, Old Spanish Trails etc
Before marriage she worked for the State Department in Iran and Disney Studios in Burbank. She will be interned at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights. There will be a memorial service at St. Louise de Marillac at a later date.
