Barbara Jean (Stilwell) Dennison, 79, of Pomona, Ca, passed peacefully on Wed, March 27, 2013 at 3:08 p.m. at Pomona Valley Hospital in Pomona, Ca, where she was hospitalized since Jan 19, 2013.
Barbara Jean was born on Feb 21, 1934 in Fort Wayne, In to Raymond Ezra and Wava Ellen (Brandt) Stilwell and spent her formative years there.
On June 12, 1952, she married Lawrence Caldwell Dennison in Fort Wayne, In. After the birth of their first 4 children in Fort Wayne, Barbara and Lawrence moved to Pomona, Ca in 1955 where the last 7 of the 11 children were born. Barbara was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Claremont 1st Ward in the LaVerne, Ca Stake.
Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Raymond Ezra Stilwell (1966) and Wava Ellen Stilwell (1995); son, William Wayne Dennison (1955), and sister, Joan Rose Sollazzo (2011).
Barbara is survived by her husband, Lawrence Caldwell Dennison of Pomona, Ca, and 10 children: Jack Lee (Jacqueline) Dennison of Pueblo, Co; Lawrence Lynn Dennison of Montclair, Ca; Cheryl Sue (Thomas) Jutras of Colorado Springs, Co; Diane Kay (Alfred) Davis of Ontario, Ca; Robert Alan Dennison of Rancho Cucamonga, Ca; Carolyn Jean McCook of Pomona, Ca; Shirley Ann (Daniel) Jorgensen of Rancho Cucamonga, Ca; Cynthia Gail (Erik) Nylander of Fontana, Ca; Sharon Dawn Dennison of Claremont, Ca; and David Glen Dennison of Pomona, Ca. She has 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Barbara's living siblings are Richard W. (Shirley) Stilwell of New Haven, In; James D. (Pat) Stilwell of New Haven, In; Mary Lou (Jim) Ehinger of Fort Wayne, In; and Donald L. (Debbie) Stilwell of Fort Wayne, In. Barbara has 2 living aunts, Barbara Jean (Rhodes) Neeley and Charlotte Anne (Rhodes) Messenger, both of Fort Wayne, In.
Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 728 E. Baseline Road, Claremont, Ca, 91711, on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
Private (family only) burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, 410 Sycamore Avenue, Claremont, Ca, 91711.
