Maxine Bauman Burch passed away in Princeton, New Jersey on August 7, 2013. She was 91 years old. Maxine was born on a farm in Manzanola, Colorado to Edward and Alma Bauman and raised with her brother Lewis Edward and her sister Ione. Maxine attended the University of Colorado and worked at the Army Air Corps base in La Junta, CO during WWII where she met her husband, Philip Hartman Burch of Los Angeles, CA. Maxine and Philip moved to California after the war and lived in North Hollywood for a time, before moving to Pasadena and then to Arcadia where she lived for 45 years. Maxine was steadfast in her Christian faith, raising all of her four children to know our Lord Jesus Christ. She was very involved at her church, first Lincoln Ave Presbyterian, then Lake Avenue Congregational and Arcadia Presbyterian. She was equally involved with all of her children, supporting their schools, serving in the Women's club and ensuring they all had the best education.
Maxine is survived by her children: Michael and Diane Burch, Reid and Patricia (Burch) Byers, Peter Burch and Timothy and Miriam Burch, and seven grandchildren: Reid III and Philip Hartman Byers, Francesca and Caterina Burch, and Richard, James and Katherine Burch, as well as her sister Ione Boblitz and sister-in-law Eleanor Bauman.
Maxine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Philip Burch. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
Services were held on August 10th at Live Oak Memorial Park in Monrovia, CA.
