Frank "Boy" De Fillipes Jr. Obituary
Frank "Boy" De Fillipes, Jr.
Born January 21, 1955. passed away on October 1, 2013 in Corning, Ca where he made his home for 30 years. He is survived by his wife Pam, daughter Hannah and grandson Christopher Boeldt and two stepsons. Also survived by his mother Betty, sister Nancy and brothers Ken and Jeff all of San Bernardino, many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. His father Frank Sr. preceded him in death in 2000.
He served in the Army for 3 years, spending one year in Germany. On discharge he went to Valley College for 3 years and became an R.N. He received his Associates of Science degree in 1980 and worked at St. B. Hospital. After marrying he and his wife decided to move to N. Ca and selected Chico where he worked at Enloe Hospital. His boyhood dream had been to own a farm. They bought 10 acres in Corning and lived in a trailer till he began building his home. This is where he "lived his dream". He had a few animals but mostly gardens and the produce they garnered was taken to the farmers market in town. He quit his job and tried farming for 2 years but realized nursing was better financially. He loved his family, being an R.N. and doing the farming. We all love him. He was a wonderful son, a wonderful "Boy". He will be missed.
