George A. Bareika, 83, formerly of Frackville, went to be with the Lord on Friday at his residence in Hondo, Texas.
Born in Frackville, Nov. 3, 1925, he was a son of the late Anthony and Sophia Digruis Bareika.
George was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy.
He was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Frackville Area Senior Citizens, Knights of Columbus, Father James A. Hogan Council 2580, all of Frackville, and Schuylkill Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus 0923.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helene Walukiewicz Bareika, in 1991; sisters, Helen Bareika, Florence Bareika and Stella Ryder; and brothers, Albert and John Bareika.
George is survived by daughters, Dolores Rickert and her husband, Bruce, Hondo, Elaine Blackwell and her husband, Raymond, Longview, Texas, and Christine Barge and her husband, Ed, Fairborn, Ohio; granddaughters, Bethany Blackwell and Nicole Blackwell; a sister, Anna Brennan, Frackville; a brother, Leonard Bareika, Ocala, Fla.

My sympathy to Dolly, Elaine and Chris and their families.Uncle George was the only one from the family attended my Moms service and I wish I could be there for him too. I respect your right for privacy. I will never forget how proud he was of me when I was enlisted in Manchesters Who's Who of Professionals for my work in Cardiology. God Bless him and all of you. I am sorry to hear of the death of your dad.. My dad, Ben Mays Mazesky, was your mom's cousin on his mother's side of the family... I remember fondly the good times with your mom and dad at St Ann's picnics..and the time you visited Ringtown..My mother and I extend our deepest sympathy to the whole family...
