Adams, Richard F. - Pine Grove  
Richard F. Adams, 84, of Donaldson Road, Tremont, formerly of Old Forge Road, Pine Grove, passed away Saturday at Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born May 24, 1930, in Pine Grove Township, he was a son of the late George Gordon and Mary Minnich Adams. He was a 1949 graduate of Pine Grove High School, and worked as a blacksmith for Bethlehem Steel Corp., Lebanon. He was a corporal in the Army, having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Richard was a member of the Grundsow Lodge, Pine Grove, Kittatinny Hunting & Fishing Club, Red Suspenders, Old Forge Fishing Club, Pine Grove VFW Post 3432 and Pine Grove American Legion. He was also a pitcher for the Suedberg Mets baseball team. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Adams, and a sister, Thelma Krause. Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Semmel Adams; four daughters, Marie and her husband, Gregg Umphrey, Deer Lake, Donna and her husband, Ronald Maurey, Tremont, Lisa and her husband, Steven Kreiser, and Melissa and her husband, Kerry Minnich, all of Pine Grove; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Daubert, Pine Grove; nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Outwood Lutheran Church, 934 Oak Grove Road, Pine Grove, with the Rev. Barry Spatz officiating. There will be a calling time from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will take place at a later date in Outwood Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove. Billger, Rita M. - Pottsville  
Rita M. Billger, 91, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully Tuesday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville, with her family by her side, after a lengthy illness. Born in Mahanoy City, she was a daughter of the late Walter J. and Nellie Grouge Mack. Rita was a graduate of Tamaqua High School and attended Reading School of Nursing. In her earlier years, Rita was very involved with the Business and Professional Women's Club. She and her husband were longtime members of both the Pottsville and Schuylkill Country Clubs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harry T. Billger, in 1981, to whom she was married 37 years; and sister, Evelyn Hauser. Rita is survived by daughters, Denise Breslin, Pottsville, and Harriet Porter, wife of John, Newark, Del.; two sons, David Billger, Schuylkill Haven, and Harry Billger, husband of Amy, Lake Oswego, Ore.; grandchildren, Ryan Breslin, Pottsville, and Andrew Saxton, husband of Marie, Bear, Del.; and great-grandchildren, Brianna, Trevor and Shane Saxton, all of Bear, Del. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Curry, George W. - Pottsville  
George W. Curry passed away peacefully Feb. 18. Born April 21, 1932, in Pottsville, he was a son of the late George A. and Ruth Curry. He graduated from Pottsville High School in 1950. George enlisted in the Navy, training at Bainbridge Naval Center. He served four years on the USS Wisconsin, with two tours to Korea. His awards include the National Defense Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Medal & Navy Occupation Medal. After his discharge, he moved to Hillsborough, N.J., where he owned his own business. After relocating to Tampa in 1981, he retired from Bank of America in 1994 and resided in Zephyrhills, Fla. He was a Rotarian and 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Francis. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie; three children, Elizabeth Ann DeMicheli (Mark), MaryJane Curry-Pelyak (Ted) and George Curry (Yvette); three grandchildren, Adam, Tyler and Kady; a great-grandchild, Anthony Liam; sisters, Shirley Clauser (Paul) and Dawn Bacon; and a sister-in-law, Marie Curry. David, John A. "Jack" - Mahanoy Plane  
John A. "Jack" David, 66, of Mahanoy Plane, died peacefully Sunday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with his family at his side. Born in Mahanoy Plane, he was a son of the late John and Regina Koinsky David. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Maizeville. Jack was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Frackville American Legion Post 398. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Irene David. Jack is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Patricia Sachleben; two sons, Brian David and his wife, Becky, Fountain Springs, and Jeffrey David and his wife, Rebecca, Crossroads, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie and Ashley David; two sisters, Patricia, wife of Tony Damelio, Bayville, N.J., and Barbara David, Ashland; nieces and nephews. Panachida service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, with the Rev. Roman Pitula officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Englewood, Frackville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Delpais, Joseph John - Brockton  
Joseph John Delpais, 79, of Brockton, passed away Thursday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street, surrounded by his angel of mercy, Sadie, and his loving family. Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late John and Sophie Ryndock Delpais. Joseph was a graduate of the former Blythe Township High School and a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Tamaqua. He served as a corporal in the Marine Corps and retired as a driver at Lehigh Valley Dairy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosaline; and a brother, John. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Margaret Kistler Delpais, Brockton; daughter, Marie Delpais, Harrisburg; two sons, Joseph Delpais and his wife, Shelly, Schuylkill Haven, and Michael Delpais and his wife, Sadie, New Ringgold; a brother, Paul Delpais, Tuscarora; a sister, Mary Ann Pillo, Pottsville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Tamaqua, with the Rev. John Frink as celebrant. Margaret A. "Peggy" Demcher, 85, of Forestville, passed away peacefully Saturday at Providence Place, Pottsville. She was born in Coal Castle, Dec. 11, 1929, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Kovich Condrack. She was the widow of Frank Demcher, who died Sept. 22, 2010. She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church Minersville. In addition to her parents and her husband, Frank, she was preceded in death by brothers, George Condrack and John and Mickey Kondrack. Peggy is survived by five sons, Frank, husband of Debra Demcher, Tremont, Gene, husband of Carol Demcher, Minersville, Ken, husband of Jill Demcher, Harrisburg, Gery, husband of Chris Demcher, Forestville, and Dave, husband of Gorgi Demcher, King of Prussia; a brother, Francis Condrack, Seltzer; a sister, Mona Gober, Sumpter S.C.; grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Krista, Amelia and her husband, John, Lindsey, Courtney and her husband, Carl, Jaret, Joshua, Abbie, Jessica and Jillian; great- grandchildren, Ava, Emme, Chloe, Carter, Grey and Bennett. Thelma M. Evans, 94, of Pottsville, passed away Friday at Providence Place, Pottsville. Born in Pottsville, Oct. 16, 1920, she was a daughter of the late William F.B. and Bessie Fenstermacher Evans. She graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School and attended Penn State University for two years. She was employed as an accountant at the former Alcoa, Cressona. Thelma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Alberta Evans. Thelma is the last member of her immediate family.
