Tomalavage, Betty Lou - Middleport  
Betty Lou Tomalavage, 85, formerly of Middleport, passed away Tuesday at North Arundel Health and Rehabilitation Center, Glen Burnie, Md. Born in Pottsville, Dec. 8, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Carrie Brommer Matthews. She was employed and retired as a seamstress in the local garment industry. Betty was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Middleport. She was an avid sports fan, rooting for Duke basketball and Penn State football teams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard C. Tomalavage; three brothers, Stanley R. "Red" Matthews, Russell R. "Whitey" Matthews and William H. "Bill" Matthews. Betty Lou is survived by a daughter, Bernadette and husband, David Farrell, Severn, Md.; a son, J.R. Tomalavage and wife, Helen, Orwigsburg; grandchildren, Ryan Michael Tomalavage and wife, Amy, Cressona, Lauren Elizabeth Timpe, Shoreline, Wash., Justin Robert Tomalavage, Orwigsburg, Richard David Farrell, Tucson, Ariz., and Douglas Francis Farrell, Southampton, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Turner H. Timpe and Arden N. Timpe, both of Shoreline, Wash., and Dylan M. Tomalavage, Cressona. Prayer services will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday, officiated by the Rev. Peggy Sue Pfeffer. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service at Thomas J. Bartashus Funeral Home, New Philadelphia. Interment will take place at 11:30 a.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In memory of Betty Lou, the family requests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Trowbridge Sr., Robert J. - Lancaster  
Robert J. Trowbridge Sr., 69, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday. He served in the Air Force. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Dewitt.
