Emerick, Richard Lee - Orwigsburg  
Richard Lee Emerick, 66, of Orwigsburg, passed away Saturday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg. Born in Pottsville, Aug. 6, 1949, he was a son of Catherine Zerbe Emerick and the late Richard Emerick. He was the husband of Melanie Amos Emerick. Richard graduated from Penn State University with a degree in political science. He was a police officer holding the rank of sergeant for the City of Pottsville. After retiring from the police force, he was a lieutenant at the Schuylkill County Prison. He served in the Army as a Second Lieutenant. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and American Hose Company, both of Pottsville. Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are a son, Richard Lance Emerick, Shamokin Dam. A graveside service is planned at a future date in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Louis D. Eyer, Catherine L. - West Brunswick Township  
Catherine L. Eyer, 87, of West Brunswick Township, died Thursday at Emmanuel Center, Danville. Born in West Hamburg, she was a daughter of the late Morris J. and Esther M. DeLong Budden. She was the widow of Charles M. Eyer, who died Jan. 3, 2004. A 1946 graduate of Hamburg High School, she was employed as a sewing machine operator at various mills in the Hamburg area for many years. She was a member of the Assemblies Of Yahweh, Bethel. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Budden, and a sister, Hazel Budden. Surviving are a son, Kevin C. Eyer, husband of Rosemary, East Brunswick Township; a daughter, Joellyn S., wife of Jerry Sandel, Bloomsburg; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Fern Shollenberger, Hamburg. A funeral service will take place at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home Inc., 40 S. Fourth St., Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
