Charles C. Klinger, 81, of 1034 E. Main St., Hegins, passed away Saturday at his residence.
Born in Spring Glen, April 27, 1933, he was a son of the late Allen C. and Ruth C. Wenrich Klinger.
He was a 1951 graduate of the former Hegins Township High School.
He was a coal miner in several area coal mines and retired as a federal mine inspector.
He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins. He was also a member of the Hegins Trap Club.
Charlie enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, trap shooting, sports and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alan J. Klinger; and a brother, Allen Klinger Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Julie C. McDermott Klinger, to whom he was married for 61 years.
He is also survived by two sons, Gary C. Klinger and his wife, Jean, Lavelle, and Larry J. Klinger and his wife, Cynthia, Hegins; a daughter, Sheree C. Judge and her husband, Benjamin, Harrisburg; two granddaughters, Deanna Henningsen and her husband, James, Lavelle, and Britney Judge, Harrisburg; four grandsons, Kristopher Klinger, Minneapolis, Minn., Rees Judge, Harrisburg, Brent Klock and his wife, Heidi, Pitman, and Chad Klock and his wife, Monica, Hegins; three great-grandsons, Cameron Henningsen, Lavelle, and Gavin and Dylan Klock, both of Hegins; two great-granddaughters, Mackenzie and Maci Klock, both of Pitman; a brother, Donald Klinger and his wife, LaRae, Lavelle; a sister, Ann Schaeffer and her husband, James, Medford Lakes, N.J.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, with the Rev. Warren Egebo officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will be made in Salem Cemetery, Weishample. Memorial contributions can be made to Friedens Lutheran Church, P.O.
