Edward J. Felker

Edward J. Felker, 99, of Pottsville, passed away Thursday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, while in the company of family members.

Born in Pottsville, Dec. 21, 1914, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Motley Felker.

He attended Pottsville schools and served in the Army during World War II.

He was the widower of Violet Brennan Felker.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and VFW Post 129, both of Pottsville.

He was employed as a baker at the former March's Bakery, Pottsville, and later as a press operator at Alcoa Aluminum, Cressona.

Edward is survived by a son, Edward J., husband of Beverly Felker, Alexandria, Va.; granddaughters, Christine Lafferty (Ray), Suffolk, Va., and Jessica Wendt (Bryan), Tampa, Fla.; a grandson, Jeffrey Felker (Catherine), Stevensville, Md.; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Kelly Lafferty, Gabriel and Jackson Felker and Matthew Wendt; a niece and two nephews.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, with the Rev. Harold Hand officiating. Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona.
